Christine Reeh is a researcher at the Centro de Filosfia of the University of Lisbon (CFUL) and has been 2012 - 2015 grantholder of the Portuguese FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.


Christine holds a M.A. in Philosophy of Arts / Aesthetics (2007) from the Faculdade de Letras, University of Lisbon. In continuation she is about to finish at the same institution her PhD dissertation in Philosophy (waiting for the oral defense), co-oriented by the Institut für Philosophie of the University of Bonn. Her thesis lays out “The Solaristic System”, a philosophy of film building mainly on Martin Heidegger and the film „Solaris“ by Andrei Tarkovsky.


She has organized for the CFUL the International Lisbon Conference on Philosophy and Film Thinking Reality and Time through Film, May 2014, at the National Library Lisbon and the University of Lisbon. The conference proceedings are in progress of being published. The second edition of the conference The Real of Reality takes place 2- 6 of November 2016 at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe.
