KINOTEL

Experimental Shortfilm, 15 min., b/w, 35 mm, 2009

OPENING SCENE

TRALER

Referring to “L’Année Dernière a Marienbad” by Resnais and “Solaris” by Tarkovsky, this is the enigmatic story of a man and a woman who visit a “Kinotel”. We don’t know much about the future world where people need to visit these “Kinotels”. But we know that going to the cinema has radically changed and human relationships have lost intensity...

Synopsis: When her mother dies of cancer on Christmas in 2001, the director of this autobiographical film decides to write her a memory letter. Resembling a diary it interweaves past and future, memories and dreams. The last moments of the mother, the months after her death and how life goes on are described.
